I Still See His Little Face...

Yesterday, I shut the door in a Fine Gael candidate's face.

I didn't even give him a chance to launch the good ship Bullscutter. I balked and shook my head and said, "Oh, no. Fine Gael. Don't come near me." Dear Jesus, Kerry fucking Katona could have been more eloquent. There are so many things I could have said to express my deep mistrust for Fine Gael, and to explain why there's nothing he could have told me that would win him a vote. I don't vote right wing. I don't believe Fine Gael offer anything approximating legitimate alternative for this country. I disagree with the party standpoint on a lot of issues dear to me. All of this I could have explained, but I had coffee swiftly cooling and I hate being annoyed at home after a long, hard day breaking my arse at work fending off the slavering jaws of recession and impending doom. So instead I left him gaping, and looking not a little hurt, on the doorstep.

It goes against every white-hot fleck in my ranting mouth to be rude to people. Argumentative, yes; rude, no. I really do feel bad.

Inordinately bad. Fine Gael are people too, despite what my mammy says.

I,I I do not know what to say. I am soooooo proud. The stuck up feudal fuckers think that they are off any hook, little realising that the reason some vote FF is to keep them gallows loving scumbags well away from ministerial seals.

i gave one of them a wave from the couch last week, when i caught him peering in the window to see if anyone was home. he pointed to the door, and i shook my head sadly.

I think that's what annoys me most, Vince - the smug certainty that they're getting in because they're not Fianna Fail.

I do that with three-piece suite salesmen, Rosie. The only people in the world I don't mind being earth-shatteringly rude to. I think.

They also have a notion that it's their God given right to thrash everybody involved in public service. A Fine Gael mayor of a city not too far from where I live had to bring a relative to A+E in a city hospital for some minor injury (probably a chronic earache from listening to the cunt). He called the A+E department "a hellhole".

Old Knudsen is disgusted. He'd be hearing about that bastard Hitler killing 6,000 Jesus killers and he'd point out, hey listen Hitler is a person too.

I have a tally of 5 so far. My stock response has been "no, just go away - I have no desire to be talked to by you and I don't want your pamphlets either". The _only_ exception I made was for an older gent. I was about to politely tell him I had no interest but thank you when I noticed that he was one of 3 old gents at three doors in a row and his candidate was standing on the street ready to be called over should anyone want to talk to him... So I wavered and said, "how do you do?" (with an obvious "?"). He smiled politely handed me a leaflet as he said something I completely didn't expect... "Good evening sir, this is just in case you want to protest against the current government." As I stood there, with my mouth opening and closing like a fish, looking at the labour pamphlet (for councillor Sean Kenny) he said "Would you like to speak to Mr. Kenny?" I shook my head no and told him thanks very much and good evening... Then I went inside laughing... Improved my evening no end - "just in case you want to protest against the current government" deadly!

Usually they are worthless canvassing gits but every now and again you get a laugh out of it... :)

We should keep Fianna Fáil just to show those FG fuckers what we think of them.

I hate FF, and I mean hate, but voting FG? Let me put it like this;

It's like choosing between having a 12 inch double ended purple dildo up your ass, or a 12 inch double ended black dildo up your ass. There both painful but the purple one is already in there so to switch you'd have to take it out and shove the other one in-which is even more painful.

Ye get me?

ell, I , who just live hear, think your problem is the fact that their is no real politics here. No left/right debate at all. Excuse me , but I think FF and FG are not so different. In Europe they would both be christian democrats. FF is as right wing as FG, realy, and they all love the church. What this country needs is a good real socialist non-clerical party and a proper right wing liberal party and all the little ones in between. Maybe you'd get some serious philosofical discussions. With FF and FG, all you get is a power struggle. Not much more.
